Go for banners instead of graffiti, says CEO

KOLKATA: West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer Debashis Sen on Tuesday urged contesting political parties in the State to use more banners and cut-outs for campaigning instead of defacing walls of private property by painting graffiti even if it was done with the consent of the property-owners.

Addressing an interactive session on “Strong Election Commission, Strong Democracy,” organised by the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Sen said: “There is morality involved in painting graffiti on walls of private property even if it is done with permission from the owners.”
