Today, the powerHouse Arena in DUMBO will host a discussion between former members of the NYPD Vandal Squad and former graffiti “writers.” The Vandal Squad was formed in the 1980s, at the height of the graffiti boom, and its officers hunted down graffiti crews who were “out to bomb.”
Present at the discussion will be former NYPD Vandal Squad officer and writer Joe Rivera, former commanding officer Steven Mona, former lieutenant Ken Chiulli, graffiti legend COPE2, street artist Ellis G and graffiti activist Ket.
The discussion will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the arena, 37 Main St., DUMBO
